The New Zealand provincial rugby competition has 2 levels with unique rugby jerseys – rugby shirts for each team. The ITM Cup (professional) with 14 rugby teams and the Division One Competition – D1C – (amateur) with 12 rugby teams. 27 rugby teams with their own distinct rugby jerseys – rugby shirts. Each level has 2 pools of 7 and 6 rugby teams respectively. The competition runs from July to the end of October. ITMC rugby teams are Auckland, North Harbour, Wellington, Bay of Plenty, Taranaki, Tasman, Manawatu, Otago, Canterbury, Southland, Waikato, Northland, Hawkes Bay and Counties Manukau. D1C rugby teams are Buller, East Coast, Horophenua Kapiti, King Country, Mid Canterbury, North Otago, Poverty Bay, South Canterbury, Thames Valley, Wairarapa Bush, Wanganui and West Coast.
